The Trendsetters

Tarun stopped his motor bike seeing a huge crowd near the overbridge. He parked the bike on the left side of the road. He went to the people who were gathered at the right end of the road in order to see what made them there.

Tarun saw a deadbody under the bridge which seemed to have reached there floating in the narrow river down there. Tarun spared no time; he got his smart phone from the pocket and started catching that rare scenery. He shot the deadbody and the crazy emotions of the people there with no photographic perfection. The camera zoomed in and out. The dead man had his rightmmm tattooed with some obscure images which were not able to be seen clearly from the over bridge where Tarun was standing and turning into a 'filmmaker'.

He looked at his wrist watch and it was nearing 10'O clock. He stopped filming the dead man and kept the phone back in the pocket. He had to reach the office before 10 and it was already late.

Tarun drove to the office.

Back at home in the evening, Tarun remembered about the video he had taken on the way to the office.

The News channels had already reported the dead man's arrival at the under bridge near the state highway. Tarun took his phone and watched how the video has been turned out. He was well satisfied with his skills in filmography as though he had captured an exclusive movie of an animal nearing it's extinction. He uploaded the video in a popular social networking site with a comment in which he wished the dead man to rest in peace.

Tarun was an ardent social networker and he had thousands of friends in his virtual friend circle that he had earned from his two years of hard work.

The video taken by Tarun was well received by these friends and their friends. Many people shared the video and mourned on the death of thaat poor stranger. Some of them doubted whether it was a suicide and others declared it as a pathetic accident. Some criticised the government for it's poor administration that lead to the suicide of the desperate guy and others protested against the lack of safety wall near the river which would have made the poor man to fell into the river while making a phone call. Arguments arose and some local politicians came into action. They assured the protestants what they demanded, but none cared what the demands were.

News channels could not tolerate this. They took the matter with much passion and held debates for finding what made the man die and how the man died.

All of them cited the dead man as "the man died of river"! No one found his name anywhere.

Tarun rose to fame with the 'shocking video'. Yes, that's what everyone called the video - ' the shocking video'! It became the trending video in most of the internet hubs. People talked about it, thought about it and fought about it. There were a very few people in the city who knew nothing about it. Moreover it got good word of the mouth publicity just like what a blockbuster movie would get in it's first day of release.

The next day, the city police issued a press release which stated that they have captured a terrorist who was in the town, planning massive attacks against the public and the authority. The terrorist had jumped into river while the police were behind him and later found him dead near the far away bank of the river. Unfortunately that dead terrorist too had his right hand tattooed.

Tarun was one of the first buddies to get to know about it from the news paper. He did not remove the video from his social networking page; but removed his own comment which wished the dead man rest in peace and replaced it with the words - 'the end of a dirty terrorist' which revealed his harsh attitude against terrorism and the in-built patriotism.

But the things didn't end there. There emerged a new group of people who circulated another video titled 'the ones who mourned for the terrorist'. This one too became viral and the next trendsetter.
